OXJAM!

For the rest of October we are going to be promoting Oxjam!

Oxjam began in 2006, with the aim of creating a network of music-loving people across the UK, all united by a shared goal - to raise money to fight poverty and suffering around the world. 6 years on we're still going strong, with hundreds of incredible gigs taking place each October.

The great thing about Oxjam is the diversity of the events on offer - from our multi-venue Takeover events, to sponsored busks on top of mountains - we've seen it all. Over the years we've gained several high profile celebrity supporters, including Jarvis Cocker, Fatboy Slim, Damon Albarn, Hot Chip and many more. But at its heart Oxjam is still a grassroots festival, with thousands of volunteers celebrating music in their local communities by organising their own gigs in support of Oxfam GB.

There are loads of ways to get involved with Oxjam and be a part of the UK's biggest festival line up. You could organise your own event, and we'll give you all the support and guidance you need to put on a brilliant night. Or why not perform or help out at a local Oxjam gig?

Teens Love Vinyl!

We are proud of our ever changing selection of vinyl records and try to look after our many regular customers and collectors as best we can. And it's fair to say that some of our vinyl buyers are 'of a mature age' and remember the days before CDs and downloads became the norm.

However, that is not always the case and today two young shoppers, Jo and Emily, went through our stock of LPs and carefully chose a handful each! They said they were buying them as a birthday present for Emily's sister who will have a new turntable to play the super selection which includes: Michael Jackson; Madonna; George Michael; and ABC.

Happy birthday to Emily's sister from all at Oxfam Bookshop in Hertford and thanks to Jo and Emily for choosing us!

We have a new window display at the Oxfam Hertford book shop - for the next two weeks we are featuring some amazing Art and Photography books, most of which are from new donations.

Oxfam Hertford Bookshop Customer Survey 2013

Earlier this month, we conducted a short survey of customers visiting the bookshop. The objectives of the survey were to find out what shoppers feel about the shop, the service they receive, the range and quality of products available and the value they obtain. 

The results of the survey are shown in a short report which can be downloaded HERE and we would like to thank all those who took part and freely offered their views and opinions. We will build on the very positive feedback you gave us and continue to look for ways to improve on our service still further.
